Daugher Vows to Keep Legacy Alive

A new film by award-winning filmmaker Cathy Henkel reveals that Spike’s youngest daughter Jane, star of the Chicken Shed’s recent production, Alice on the Underground, wants to set up a foundation in his honour. Jane told News of the Galaxy that she wanted to call it ‘The Spike Milligan Foundation for Love, Light and Peace. Jane reveals this and more in the film, titled I TOLD YOU I WAS ILL: The Life and Legacy of Spike Milligan. The film’s world premiere took place at the Adelaide International Film Festival on Tuesday 22 February 2005. Spike's brother Desmond, eldest daughter Jane and granddaughter Georga took part. Spike visited Australia many times during his life and wrote many of his books in Woy Woy.
